Synopsis

Tomoya Okazaki is a burned-out delinquent convinced his life is pointless and that he'll never be anything. He and his friend Youhei spend their days skipping school and killing time, too apathetic to care. Everything changes when Tomoya spots a girl on his way to school randomly shouting "Anpan!" at the top of her lungs. Turns out she's Nagisa Furukawa, and she yells out things she likes as a way to pump herself up. She immediately decides they're friends, though Tomoya's not so sure and just walks away. But he keeps running into her around campus, and eventually he can't help but give in and actually befriend her. He finds out Nagisa had to repeat a year because of serious health problems, and her big dream is to restart the school's drama club. With nothing else going on, Tomoya figures why not and agrees to help. They manage to recruit four other girls to join the cause. As Tomoya gets to know each of these girls and learns about the stuff they're dealing with, he starts helping them work through their issues. Slowly but surely, he realizes that maybe life isn't as boring and pointless as he always thought it was.
