Miyu Samura's life hits rock bottom when his girlfriend Yuuko dumps him. Months later, she suddenly reappears and hands him a toy poodle she can't keep anymore. Problem is, Miyu has no idea how to handle dogs, and the hyper puppy is getting him close to eviction. During a walk, Miyu runs into professional dog trainer Shinichirou Niwa and his perfectly behaved standard poodle, Ourson. Within minutes, Niwa whips Miyu's unruly dog into shape and reads Miyu the riot act about proper pet care. Impressed by what he sees, Miyu impulsively quits his job to become Niwa's assistant. It turns out Niwa's great with dogs but terrible with people. His business is struggling and his social skills are pretty rough. Still, Miyu isn't ready to give up on either Niwa or the trainers' flailing operation.
