Synopsis

Robots called "Labors" have become a normal part of everyday life, but inevitably, criminals started stealing them for their own purposes. To handle this new kind of crime, police departments worldwide deployed their own robots—"Patlabors"—to keep things in check. Rookie cop Noa Izumi gets assigned to a special Patlabor unit and pilots her own machine, which she names Alphonse. She throws herself into the job with her characteristic enthusiasm, working with her squad to stop criminals from misusing Labor technology. As Izumi settles into her new role, she bonds with her teammates—the reserved Asuma Shinohara, fellow pilot Isao Oota, and the rest of her brigade. Together they tackle everything from criminal conspiracies and labor disputes to genuinely weird supernatural threats. Through it all, Izumi learns to balance her professional duties with the messy reality of working alongside people she's come to care about.
