Synopsis

A volcanic eruption nearly destroyed Japan's Ayaka Islands a decade ago. Yukito Yanagi has spent those ten years living with foster families on the mainland, keeping everyone at arm's length after something traumatic happened to him. When he graduates middle school, his late father's wishes bring him back to the islands for the first time. There, he meets his father's old disciples and learns the truth about the place: supernatural beings called Mitama inhabit the islands, but when they feed on human negativity, they transform into dangerous monsters called Ara-Mitama. Turns out Yukito shares his father's rare gift—he's a Ley Master, someone with magical abilities meant to calm these monsters and keep people safe. As he works through his trauma and gets a handle on his powers, Yukito decides to walk his father's path and become a real Ley Master himself, all to protect the islands.
