Sgt. Frog
Keroro Gunsou
It's 2004, and 12-year-old Fuyuki Hinata has just dreamed about frog-like aliens invading Earth with flying saucers. Turns out he wasn't entirely wrong—Sergeant Keroro, leader of an advance team for the Keronian invasion of "Pekopon" (their word for Earth), has actually shown up to start the conquest. After quickly subduing Fuyuki and his sister, Keroro expects to regroup with his squad, head back to the mothership, and grab the Kero Ball—the crucial device they'll need for the invasion. But things fall apart immediately. Headquarters sends word that they've abandoned the whole operation and bailed, leaving Keroro stranded. Stuck at the Hinata house with no way out, Keroro ends up living with Fuyuki, his hot-headed athletic sister Natsumi, and their hardworking, attractive mother Aki. It's not ideal for a would-be conqueror. Every day Keroro and his platoon scheme up new plans for world domination, but something always goes wrong—sometimes the family interferes, sometimes just dumb luck. Over time, though, something unexpected happens. The aliens actually start caring about their human hosts. What begins as forced cohabitation turns into genuine friendships, complete with all the ridiculous mishaps and oddly heartfelt moments that come with it. Living on Earth becomes less about invasion and more about actually belonging somewhere.
