Synopsis

Humanity's last survivors live in the Tank, the lower level of the colossal mobile fortress Deca-Dence, ever since mysterious creatures called Gadoll became a threat to their existence. Most Tankers stick to support roles—processing Gadoll meat, maintaining defenses—while the Gears on the upper floors do the actual fighting. Natsume isn't content with that setup. Despite having a prosthetic arm, she's desperate to join the small contingent of Tanker soldiers who fight alongside the Gears. Her enlistment keeps getting denied, so she ends up working as a cleaner for an armor repair team run by Kaburagi, a gruff guy who clearly knows more than he's letting on. He's not exactly warm to Natsume's idealistic attitude at first, but he eventually sees what she could become—someone capable of actually shaking up how their whole world operates. He takes her under his wing and starts preparing her for a role that's way more important than anyone realizes.
