Synopsis

After pushing back Aftokrator's invasion, the Border Defense Agency starts planning a major expedition into the Neighbor dimension. Problem is, only A-rank teams are guaranteed to go—just like with all their previous scouting runs. So Osamu Mikumo and Tamakoma-2 are racing through the B-rank wars, desperately trying to climb high enough to secure a spot before the mission launches. Then things get worse. A new Neighbor ship shows up and immediately goes after Border's expedition vessel. The agency scrambles to send out teams to intercept, but they're stretched thin because squads are tied up in the ranking battles. The whole operation falls into chaos, and suddenly nobody knows if the expedition ship—which is crucial to the entire plan—will even survive.
