Synopsis

What would you do if you had nothing left to lose? Reito Naoi is in his early twenties when he gets fired—unfairly. Angry and wanting revenge, he attempts to steal something valuable from his workplace, but gets caught. Prison seems like the end of the line. Then a lawyer shows up with an offer: get out of jail, no strings attached. Well, one string. Just do what his client wants. Reito takes the deal and finds out the client is his aunt. When she asks what he's doing with his life and gets nowhere, she gives him an assignment: guard a camphor tree at a nearby shrine. That's it. That's his purpose now. But the tree isn't just any tree. There's a legend attached to it—something mysterious that makes this job mean more than simple groundskeeping.
