Synopsis

Ash and Pikachu end up in the Alola region when Ash's mom wins a trip to the islands. The place is packed with new Pokémon and regional variants of ones they've seen before. While exploring Melemele Island, they get lost chasing after a wild Pokémon and stumble across a Pokémon School. Things get interesting fast. Ash and a student named Kaki run into Team Skull thugs and witness Z-Moves in action—these are seriously powerful attacks unique to Alola that require perfect synchronization between trainer and Pokémon. That same night, the legendary guardian deity of the island, Kapu Kokeko, appears and gives Ash a Z-Ring, which he needs to use Z-Moves. Impressed and pumped up, Ash decides to stick around and enroll in the school. Ash finds himself in a class with some interesting people. There's Lillie, who's obsessed with Pokémon but can't actually bring herself to touch them. There's Kaki. And several others. His days quickly fill up with schoolwork, dealing with Team Rocket, who've set up shop in Alola with their own plans, and tackling the Island Challenge—a series of trials that'll help him master Z-Moves. It's shaping up to be his most exciting adventure yet.
