Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 2 is set 100 years after the first game—though barely any time has actually passed in the past itself. The setting is Kyou, a Heian period version of Kyoto that's falling apart due to a power struggle between the emperor and the retired emperor. The citizens are scared and desperate, convinced the world is about to end. Karin gets caught up in all this when the White Dragon suddenly whisks her away from her friends and transports her to Kyou. She's been chosen as the White Dragon's new priestess, which means she has to fight evil alongside her guardians. To complicate things, she keeps having visions of some mysterious guy she can't quite figure out.
