A guy spots a kappa in a pet shop window and impulsively buys it. He takes it home and names it Kaatan, then immediately picks up a guidebook on kappa care since he has no idea what he's doing. The book makes it all sound straightforward—tips on training and raising a well-behaved kappa that seem easy enough in theory. Reality's a different story though. Kaatan might grasp something for a moment, but he either forgets it just as quickly or simply doesn't care about learning in the first place. Still, the guy's got plenty of patience, and he keeps at it, determined to turn Kaatan into a pet worth being proud of, even if the odds aren't exactly in his favor.
