Synopsis

This animated film is based on a new theatrical adaptation of "Unico and the Kingdom of the Sun." It centers on a confrontation between Unico and the sinister wizard Kukuruku, who constructs an entire castle using men he's transformed into dolls as its building blocks. The story explores the despair and terror of these cursed men, while following a girl named Cherry who desperately wants to restore her brother's humanity and goodness—he's become a devoted student of Kukuruku. At its heart, the film examines one of Osamu Tezuka's favorite themes: transformation isn't just about physical change, but about what happens to the human soul and spirit in the process.
