Synopsis

Sakamichi Onoda is a cheerful otaku who transfers to a new high school hoping to finally make friends by joining the anime club. There's just one problem—the club doesn't exist anymore. Determined to revive it, he sets out to recruit members, but things aren't going well. In the meantime, he's been making a weekly 90-kilometer trip to Akihabara on his old, clunky city bike since elementary school, so he's basically built up serious leg strength without even realizing it. One day he runs into Shunsuke Imaizumi, a first-year cyclist who's training on the school's brutal hill. Imaizumi is shocked to see Onoda casually climbing it on what's basically a shopping bike and challenges him to a race. The catch? If Onoda wins, Imaizumi has to join the anime club. This race becomes the start of Onoda's unexpected journey into competitive cycling.
