Synopsis

Kitarou is a youkai boy born in a cemetery and one of the last surviving members of the Ghost tribe—his father, mostly just bones at this point, is pretty much it. He's missing his left eye, though his hair usually covers where it should be. He spends his time keeping the peace between humans and youkai, which mainly means protecting humans from whatever youkai trouble comes their way. This adaptation pulls directly from the original Hakaba Kitarou manga, the series that eventually evolved into the hugely popular Gegege no Kitarou in the late '60s.
