Yoko sends her assistant to search the seabed for something while Madoka, struggling to pilot Midori, heads back to Kamogawa to spend New Year's there. Once home, she gets letters from Lan and Muginami catching her up on their lives and writes back. Over the following months as Madoka advances to the next grade, Lan and Muginami end up visiting a tourist planet called Polyhedron, which has an intergalactic recreation of Kamogawa. This takes place between seasons 1 and 2.
