Synopsis

In the 22nd century, Japan runs the Sibyl System—an automated way to scan citizens' minds and measure their criminal potential, called their Psycho-Pass. Anyone showing even a hint of criminal intent gets taken down, often fatally, by law enforcement Inspectors. These Inspectors work with Enforcers, who are basically failed Inspectors turned criminals themselves, kept on a loose leash to handle the messy jobs. Akane Tsunemori enters this world as an idealistic young Inspector genuinely committed to justice. But as she teams up with the cynical veteran Enforcer Shinya Kougami, she starts to see cracks in the system everyone else accepts as flawless. What she discovers shakes her worldview, forcing her to grapple with a harder question: what even is justice when the system enforcing it might be fundamentally broken?
