Synopsis

According to legend, divine beings called the Seraphim bless humanity in exchange for prayers and worship. Humans capable of communicating with them are called Shepherds—revered as heroes for appearing in times of need, but also feared for their immense power. Both Shepherds and Seraphim feature prominently in folklore and religious texts. Sorey grew up in the isolated village of Elysia, living peacefully among Seraphim his whole life. Curious about the old stories, he explores some ruins with Mikleo, a Seraphim who's been his companion since childhood, hoping to learn more about the relationship between Seraphim and humans. While they're investigating deeper into the ruins, they get stuck. That's when they stumble across a desperate girl who's looking for a Shepherd—apparently the world is literally being consumed by darkness and she needs help. Mikleo warns Sorey not to get involved with humans, but Sorey helps her anyway. This choice puts him on a path he didn't expect: working toward a world where humans and Seraphim can actually coexist peacefully.
