Piroppo is a short series that Sony commissioned to promote their robot dog Aibo. The project consisted of 54 roughly 20-second segments, though the DVD release was condensed down to 23 named episodes. Katsuhito Ishii directed the series—the same guy behind Trava Fist Planet and several of the Grasshopper live-action projects. Despite working with a pretty tight budget, he managed to make something genuinely creative and original.
