Uddiyana has been torn apart by civil war for years, and even the UN's peacekeeping efforts can't seem to get things under control. Then a photographer named Saeko Shirasu captures a powerful image: civilians and soldiers raising a makeshift UN flag together. The photo becomes a symbol of hope and actually starts shifting public opinion toward peace. Of course, that's when extremists steal the flag—they're determined to sabotage the coming armistice before it can happen. The UN brings in the SDC, a special task force equipped with HAVWCs—basically advanced combat robots—to track down the flag and get it back. They want Saeko to come along and document everything since she's the one who made the photo famous in the first place. The problem is time's running out. The extremists are whipping up the population's anger, and if things don't move fast, the whole fragile peace process could collapse.
