Synopsis

When Mutta and Hibito Nanba were kids, they saw something streak across the night sky toward the Moon—probably a UFO, or so they thought. The sight stuck with them. Both brothers made a pact right then: they'd become astronauts. Hibito set his sights on the Moon itself, while Mutta, determined to stay one step ahead as the older brother, aimed even higher—Mars. Years later, things haven't gone according to plan. Mutta's stuck in a dead-end job at an automotive company while Hibito's living the dream, about to become Japan's first man on the Moon. Then Mutta gets fired, and what should be rock bottom turns into an unexpected lifeline. JAXA—the Japanese space agency—accepts his application for their astronaut program. Mutta's plagued by self-doubt and isn't sure he has what it takes. But he's not about to let this shot slip away. After nearly two decades, he finally has a real chance to catch up to his brother and fulfill that promise they made as kids. He's going for it.
