Synopsis

Mutsugoro, a researcher, moves his whole family out to an isolated island off Hokkaido to study the wild bears living there. Poachers operating in the area end up being a constant headache for him, but things get more complicated when he takes in an orphaned bear cub. The family decides to raise the cub—naming him Donbe—pretty much like he's one of them.
