Synopsis

Van is a lazy swordsman on a mission to find and kill the man who murdered his fiancée—a guy known only as The Claw Man because, well, he has a claw instead of an arm. While passing through the city of Evergreen, Van gets pulled into its problems when bandits start threatening to raid the treasury. The city begs for his help, but Van couldn't care less and moves on. That changes when he runs into the bandits himself and they manage to piss him off enough that he decides to deal with them. It turns out the bandits are connected to The Claw Man and had kidnapped a girl named Wendy's brother for reasons they won't explain. After Van makes quick work of them, he's stuck traveling with Wendy—much to his annoyance—to track down The Claw Man. Neither of them realizes just how deep this goes, or what The Claw Man is actually involved in.
