Synopsis

A year after escaping Sword Art Online, Kazuto Kirigaya is finally readjusting to normal life—until a new crisis pulls him back in. Players are dying in the real world after being shot in a VR game called Gun Gale Online, and a killer going by Death Gun is behind it. When authorities ask for his help, Kazuto reluctantly returns to gaming as Kirito to track down the murderer. Inside GGO, he meets Sinon, an excellent sniper carrying serious trauma from her past. She gets caught up in his investigation, and the two decide to enter the Bullet of Bullets tournament, where Death Gun is guaranteed to show up. The problem is neither of them really knows what Death Gun is capable of—or if they can stop him before he kills again. Things get complicated fast as old wounds resurface, and what started as a hunt becomes a desperate race where either of them could be the next victim.
