Synopsis

A month has passed since the Karakasa incident, and the Inner Chambers are trying to get back to business as usual. For the noble families running things, "normal" just means resuming their usual political maneuvering—basically making sure nobody gains power they shouldn't have. Right now they've got their eyes on Fuki Tokita, a high-ranking concubine who's been catching Lord Tenshi's attention. The problem? She's a merchant's daughter, which makes her completely unsuitable for bearing an heir in their eyes. But the supernatural threats haven't gone away. When people start dying under strange circumstances inside the Inner Chambers, the residents reluctantly bring back the Medicine Seller—the only person who has any shot at figuring out what's really going on. More importantly, they need to know what Fuki's connection to all this is, if any.
