Synopsis

Nello lost his mother when he was just two years old, so his grandfather took him in and raised him in their small village. One day, Nello found a dog that had been beaten nearly to death and decided to keep him, naming him Patrasche. With his grandfather's care, the dog recovered and became Nello's constant companion. The family was poor, so Nello helped out by selling milk around town—and Patrasche pulled the cart alongside him.
