Synopsis

Will wakes up in a ruined city with no memory of his past, surrounded by three unlikely guardians: Blood the skeleton, Gus the ghost, and Mary the mummy. They raise him as their own, each teaching him something essential—combat, magic, faith, and what it means to be loved. It's a strange childhood, but it's all he knows. As Will grows older, he realizes he can't stay sheltered forever. Like everyone else in this world, he'll eventually have to come of age and swear an oath to a god of his choosing. The strength of that oath determines how much divine blessing he'll receive, making it a serious commitment. But before that happens, Will has to grapple with some hard truths about his three guardians and venture into a world they themselves don't fully understand. The real challenge, though? Every oath made in this world demands to be kept—no exceptions, no way out.
