Synopsis

It's the 13th century in the Mongol Empire at its height. Fatima, a Persian woman trained in advanced medicine and science, comes to the Khan's palace hoping to finally use her expertise. She becomes close with Töregene, one of the wives of Ögedei Khan, who's grappling with serious doubts about where the empire is heading. What starts as a personal connection between these two women ends up reshaping the entire political landscape of the palace—and eventually, the world itself.
