Synopsis

When Makoto agrees to testify against student council president Katsuhiko Jinnai for bribing clubs during elections, Jinnai chases him down to shut him up. In the middle of the chase, time freezes—but only for everyone else. Makoto wanders the campus confused until he spots light pouring from the school's sealed basement, where an ancient artifact has just been unearthed. He approaches the glowing relic and an otherworldly woman emerges, claiming she's been waiting ten thousand years for him. Nearly drained from the passage of time, she uses her last strength to pull Makoto into another world: El-Hazard. The spell catches others too—Jinnai, Masamichi Fujisawa (a perpetually drunk teacher), and Nanami Jinnai, Katsuhiko's stubborn sister. Now stranded in this fantastical world, the four of them get pulled into the lives of its inhabitants and set off on an adventure full of laughs, danger, and romance.
