In 2063, space travel is just part of everyday life. Aries Spring heads to the spaceport excited for a school camp on the planet McPa, but a thief immediately steals her purse. Kanata Hoshijima, an athletic classmate, chases down the thief and gets it back for her. Turns out Kanata's part of her camp group—team B-5—so they'll be traveling together anyway. Things go wrong fast once they reach the campsite. A bizarre sphere of black light engulfs the whole group and hurls them into space. Stranded and panicking, they spot an abandoned ship nearby and manage to board it, thinking they're saved. But then comes the bad news: they're not thousands of miles away. They're thousands of light-years away. Now the nine of them have to figure out how to survive. They're rationing supplies, keeping morale up, and learning to work as a team while they navigate back home on their salvaged ship, the Astra. Nobody knows what that sphere was or why it happened, but that's not going to stop them from trying to make it back.
