It's the 1400s, right in the middle of the Hundred Years' War—England and France are going at it over who gets to rule France. Montmorency, a nobleman's son, is studying magic and alchemy at a royal school for knights when everything falls apart. After France gets absolutely demolished at Agincourt, the school shuts down and Montmorency finds himself on the run with nothing left. Right around the time he's become a full alchemist, he meets Jehanne, a mysterious girl from some village who changes everything.
