Synopsis

Japanese schools are famous for their urban legends—the so-called Seven Mysteries that practically every student knows about. Hanako-san is probably the most iconic: supposedly the ghost of a girl who lives in the school bathroom. Kamome Academy has its own Hanako-san legend. According to rumors, summoning her grants you any wish you want. Plenty of people have tried and failed, but when Nene Yashiro decides to give it a shot (hoping for some romantic luck), she gets a shock—Hanako-san is actually a boy. After things go hilariously wrong with her love life, Yashiro finds herself roped into the supernatural world as Hanako-kun's assistant. She quickly learns that his real job is way more serious than granting wishes: he's responsible for keeping the balance between the living world and the world of spirits.
