Tekkon Kinkreet Pilot
Michael Arias at Softimage initially conceived the project as a simple CG exercise. When Akira Morimoto caught wind of it, he signed on to develop it further using Softimage 3D. A few months down the line, visual director Wilson Tang and animation supervisor Lee Fulton put together a pilot with a tiny team of just 12 people, working entirely in CG. The pilot ended up winning the Excellence Award in the Digital Art Division at the 3rd Japan Media Arts Festival.
