Eating mermaid flesh grants immortality—or so the legend goes. For the 500-year-old Yuta and his companion Mana, it actually worked. Most people who attempt it aren't so lucky: they either die or turn into monsters. Fifty-five years back, Towa Kannagi received mermaid blood from her sister Sawa to treat a life-threatening illness. The treatment saved her, but the cost was steep. She's stayed young ever since, though her hair turned white and one arm became inhuman. For decades, she's been obsessed with fixing herself, regularly getting blood transfusions from young corpses with help from the local doctor, Shiina. When Mana is mistaken for a corpse and brought to Shiina, Towa sees an opportunity. But there's a problem: Mana's still alive. Now the question becomes—how far will Towa actually go to restore her body? And can Yuta reach Mana before it's too late?
