Synopsis

A serial killer is loose in Westland, New York, randomly murdering people with a knife. One girl witnesses the killing—and becomes the next victim. Meg returns to town with Joe to celebrate Shirley's birthday. The three of them are orphans who grew up together, and they'd picked the day they first met as Shirley's birthday. Before meeting Joe, Meg had looked after three kids including Shirley, and they were eventually adopted by Sam, a cop with a strong sense of justice. Everything seemed fine. When Meg and Joe help someone out and get rewarded for it, they use the money to buy Shirley a gift and head over to see Sam. But something's off about him. He tells them that Shirley was attacked by the murderer and is seriously hurt. A furious Meg wants payback, and Joe agrees—they decide to hunt down whoever did this. But the killer is already closing in on them, watching with cold, merciless eyes. And there's something darker at work: a conspiracy that's about to pull Meg, Joe, Sam, and the entire town into its grip.
