Synopsis

In the war-torn nation of Gazth-Sonika, a mercenary named Madlax operates with almost supernatural prowess. Meanwhile, in the peaceful country of Nafrece, a woman named Margaret Burton lives a quiet, ordinary life. Despite their worlds being completely separate, the two are mysteriously connected—bound together by a sacred book that's also being hunted by a shadowy organization called Enfant. As Margaret and Madlax each follow their own path, they gradually uncover connections between them, drawing closer to a truth that might be too much for either of them to handle.
