Takao Kasuga is a high school student obsessed with poetry, particularly Charles Baudelaire—he's got the guy's portrait hanging in his room. One day he forgets his copy of The Flowers of Evil at school and goes back to grab it. While he's there, he impulsively steals the gym clothes of Nanako Saeki, a popular student he's idolized as his muse. The problem? Sawa Nakamura, a social outcast in his class, witnesses the whole thing. She uses it as leverage to blackmail him into participating in increasingly disturbing scenarios. Trapped and ashamed of what he's done, Takao finds himself spiraling deeper into Sawa's twisted demands. The story follows whether he can escape this cycle and somehow make amends for his actions.
