Synopsis

In the ancient kingdom of Mu, Queen Aira and her people are getting crushed by the Dragonian Empire and their dinosaur army, led by the golden tyrant Dorado. With only a massive statue of a deity for protection, they're badly outmatched—so Aira does the logical thing and reaches out across time for help. Enter Yamato Hino, a fit but otherwise ordinary Tokyo high school student who starts receiving messages from a mysterious spectral woman. He thinks she's messing with his head at first, but Aira eventually convinces him to jump through a portal to ancient Mu. He barely has time to catch his breath before Dragonia attacks again. But this time Yamato gets merged with the giant God Mazinger, and the dinosaurs are sent packing. Sure, it's a win—Mu's first real one—but Yamato's got a long road ahead. He'll have to overcome his own flaws and actually become the warrior Mu needs if he wants to save the kingdom and find his way back home.
