Galaxy Express 999: The Movie Even after destroying Andromeda, the machine empire's grip on the galaxy only tightens, turning Earth itself into a war zone. Tetsurou Hoshino returns from his travels on the Galaxy Express 999 to find the planet overrun, and he joins the human resistance to fight back. When the 999 pulls back into Earth station, Tetsurou gets a cryptic message from Maetel—his old traveling companion—asking him to board the train again. He battles his way to Megalopolis station and manages to slip aboard as it takes off. But this journey is nothing like the last one. Maetel has vanished without a trace, a creepy "Ghost Train" is haunting the rails, and nobody knows where the 999 is actually headed. To make things worse, a dark knight named Faust keeps showing up to confront him, and Tetsurou gradually uncovers what might be the machine empire's biggest secret yet.
