August 1945. A young doctor at a makeshift hospital in a converted seminary outside Nagasaki is doing his best to treat patients when disturbing reports arrive about an American weapon that destroyed Hiroshima. Three days later, a second atomic bomb flattens Nagasaki itself. Now the hospital staff has to scramble to save whoever they can in a city that's been turned into concentric rings of devastation.
