Synopsis

Twenty-two years before the story begins, something bizarre happened in Kanazawa—the ground literally split open and shot upward, creating a massive elevated region called the Lost Ground. It's harsh and isolated, which is pretty much why Kazuma lives there. He's a young mercenary just trying to scrape by, and he happens to be one of the rare people born with an Alter ability. His thing is covering his right arm and torso in a special metallic alloy, which comes in handy for the kind of work he does. Everything changes when he runs into HOLY, an organization dedicated to hunting down and capturing people like him—Native Alter Users. One of their top members, Ryuho, becomes his rival, and the two end up locked in a serious conflict.
