Synopsis

Green Leaves Entertainment is in serious trouble—they have literally zero talent on their roster. With the agency on the verge of collapse, President Junko Tange sees one way out: the idol market. She orders her employee Matsuda to find a girl group to manage, and if one doesn't exist, he needs to build it himself. The problem is, actual singing groups don't just materialize. Matsuda has to hunt down girls with real talent who aren't already locked into contracts with established agencies. A maid café worker? Sure, she'll do. A lead singer who got kicked out of her last group? Why not. How about a 13-year-old with no experience? Yeah, that'll probably be fine. They're nowhere near the big leagues at first, but if they put in the work and actually care about what they're doing, Wake Up, Girls! might just become something Japan has to pay attention to.
