Synopsis

In Earth's final days, humans are no longer born naturally—they're manufactured by AI and assigned specific roles in society. Godo Shingo is a young soldier with an unusual streak of compassion; he cares genuinely for both robots and animals, much to his superiors' annoyance. But he's also skilled, especially with a gun, which is why he gets tasked with an impossible job: hunting down the Phoenix, a legendary immortal bird that's been taking out starships left and right. Everything falls apart when he meets Rena, the president's daughter. Problem is, she's already engaged to Rock Holmes, head of the Science Department. When they try to run away together and get caught, Godo ends up in a prison labor camp. He's saved by Olga, his robot caretaker, and Pincho, Rena's alien pet—who manage to slip away and stage a rescue. What follows is an adventure across space that's really about the transformative power of selfless love.
