Synopsis

Shion Yasuoka is a middle school prodigy climbing the professional shogi ranks, despite a tragic past. She lost her family young and hasn't been able to speak since the trauma, but her adoptive family and the shogi community have helped her rebuild her life. Satoru Hani, a wealthy businessman and brother of the current Meijin champion, notices her talent and invites her to compete in a mixed tournament he's organizing for pros and amateurs alike. Thing is, Satoru knows way too much about Shion's past—enough to raise red flags for her friend Ayumi and the police, who are still investigating what happened to her family. As the tournament heats up, Shion starts having flashbacks about the night everything fell apart. She'll have to push through both her opponents and the painful memories to uncover the truth about who destroyed her life.
