Synopsis

In a future Japan, cities are sealed off from each other with strict controls on movement and migration. Each city has its own AI that runs things however it wants, shaping society around a single vision where everyone's expected to play their assigned part. Not surprisingly, plenty of people aren't happy being trapped in their predetermined role, so they need help getting out. By day, Equa, Ferres, and Martese are just regular high school students. At night, they're Extractors—smugglers who illegally move people between city borders. It's dangerous work. They're helping desperate people abandon everything for a shot at a better life elsewhere. But as the AI moderators start catching on to what they're doing and realize their perfect cities are under threat, the heat turns up fast. The trio's operation gets riskier by the day.
