It's 1995, and Earth is under alien occupation. The Akron—an invading force from the Saar cluster—have leveled the cities and forced humanity into scattered settlements and shanty towns. A war orphan named Kento is hiding out in a cave with some companions, trying to lay low from a band of raiders, when they stumble onto something unexpected: a secret base belonging to Dr. Earl, a refugee from the planet Helios. Helios fell to the Akron too, but Earl managed to escape and bring something incredible with him—Daltanius, a super robot representing the pinnacle of Helian technology. The thing gets even stronger when combined with Beralios, an intelligent lion-shaped robot. Before long, Dr. Earl realizes Kento is descended from Helios's royal family, a bloodline thought to be extinct. He decides Kento's the one meant to pilot Daltanius and lead humanity's fight back against the Akron.
