Synopsis

Ryuu Jusetsu, the Raven Consort, is one of the most feared and respected figures in the royal court. She lives isolated in her black palace, away from the emperor, and is surrounded by wild rumors. People whisper that she can do anything—find missing things, place curses, grant wishes. Some think she's an immortal sage; others are convinced she's a vengeful ghost. None of it bothers her much. She'd rather be left alone. That changes when Emperor Ka Koushun shows up at her door asking for help with a mysterious problem. Getting Jusetsu out of her palace for the first time requires the young emperor's personal request, and despite how much his constant visits annoy her, she can't refuse him. Her predecessor's words still haunt her though: the Raven Consort is supposed to be alone forever, never wanting anything. But when she asks Jiujiu—a curious young court attendant—to serve as her aide, she breaks that rule. It's the first real bond she's made in who knows how long. Working together, the two start handling requests from people around the palace. But the outside world holds dangers Jusetsu doesn't expect, and taking on these cases might force her to confront a past she's spent a long time trying to forget.
