Synopsis

In the 20th century, musical theater is huge. The top performers—called Dai Stars—blow audiences away with their incredible talent. The absolute best of them earn the title World Dai Star. Kokona Ootori is young and hasn't made it yet, but she's determined to become a World Dai Star. After bombing several auditions, she finally gets another shot at the prestigious Sirius theater troupe. With her best friend Shizuka pushing her forward, Kokona throws herself into improving her acting skills. But the theater world is brutal—tons of girls want that spotlight, and she's up against some seriously talented competition, like Kathrina Griebel, a skilled German performer. If Kokona's going to make her dream happen, she'll need to earn her place on that stage, no matter what it takes.
