Synopsis

Marin's just a regular junior high girl living a good life with her adoptive family—until the day a massive mirage appears in the sky above the entire planet. Killer androids called Monomakia start pouring down from a formation called Brigadoon, and they're after her specifically. While running for her life, Marin discovers a blue bottle hidden in a shrine. Out steps Melan Blue, an alien warrior armed with both a sword and gun, who becomes her protector. Now the two of them have to figure out how to save Earth while juggling family problems, school discrimination, police interference, and some serious trust issues. Along the way, Marin slowly uncovers the truth about her own past, while Melan's mysterious mission finally starts to make sense. The whole thing plays out in 1969 Japan, surrounded by a mix of allies and enemies who make things either better or worse.
