Synopsis

Mari's got two big fears: vegetables and Fear'a Bridge. She has nightmares about them constantly, goes out of her way to avoid eating anything healthy, and wakes up early just so she and her friend Momo can take the long route to school and skip the bridge altogether. Everything changes when Momo gets a dog that can't handle the busy road they usually take, so Momo crosses the bridge without her. Same day, Mari's teacher announces the class needs to stop wasting food at lunch. Mari ends up forced to eat three of her most hated foods—carrots, peppers, and milk. She literally passes out from the shock. When she comes to in the nurse's office, she's met by three food spirits introducing themselves as Ninninman, Piiman, and Milk. With their help—weird as they are—Mari might finally be able to face down her fears.
