Synopsis

Crime doesn't go away—it just spreads. By 2071, humanity's scattered across the galaxy with settlements on planets everywhere, but the problems follow us: murder, drugs, theft. Bounty hunters have become commonplace, chasing down intergalactic criminals just to get by. Spike Spiegel and Jet Black are two of those hunters, traveling on their ship the Bebop to track down wanted criminals and scrape together a living. Spike's got a goofy side, but he's really carrying baggage from a violent past he can't shake. Jet has his own demons and spends most of his time keeping both Spike and the ship from falling apart. They eventually pick up Faye Valentine, a smooth-talking con artist; Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV, an eccentric kid; and Ein, a genetically engineered Welsh corgi. The crew bonds over their work chasing down an endless stream of weirdos and criminals, but things get messy when someone from Spike's old life shows up. A rival's got a dangerous plan in motion, and Spike's forced to make a choice: stay with the family he's found on the Bebop, or get revenge for his past.
